I’m Chris Stein, Associate Professor in the Media Arts and Technology department at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. I don’t have a personal web site right now as Joe does (and yes I teach web design, shameful) so I’ll give some details here.

I came to teaching through the side door so to speak. I have a BA in psychology from Yale University and then switched gears to get a master’s in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU. I worked as a new media developer for a few years which basically meant I did anything digital I could get my hands on from web sites to programming Excel® spreadsheets, to video, to Flash® games.

I started teaching as an adjunct at BMCC during that period and grew to love it and ended up with a full time position. I have a great interest and belief in the use of technology in education. I incorporate a number of technologies in my teaching like screencasting, blogs, podcasting, even Blackboard Learn™. But I’m more interested in how they are used than what I use.
